• How Much Longer Can a Leaf Spring Be And Work Safely on a Tandem Axle RV Trailer?
• A leaf spring being 1-1/2" longer is going to be to much of a difference to work properly for the trailer suspension. While it may bolt up the positioning of the axles will change by quite a bit and may bind up as the suspension travels through its range of movement. Typically I do not like to see more than 1/2" difference in the length of the leaf springs when you replace them if you are unable to find the same size.
